Here's a job that proves you don't need to overcomplicate things to get a great result. This lakeside cabin on Leech Lake needed railings on both sides of the entry steps - nothing fancy, just something solid, safe, and clean-looking that didn't clash with the natural stone and wood character of the property.
That's where the design matters. A chunky, ornate railing would have fought with the stone work and log siding. A thin, minimalist steel frame in a dark finish works with it. The lines are simple - straight top rail, single diagonal support, clean post footings anchored right into the paver surface. No extra hardware cluttering it up. Just good geometry.
We fabricated and installed both railings on-site, which is exactly what mobile welding is built for. No hauling the steps to a shop. No measuring twice and hoping it fits. We come to the job, work off the actual structure, and build it right the first time. That's a big deal when you're dealing with stone steps and a paver surface where every install point has to be placed precisely.
The finished set of railings gives the entry a much more complete feel without overpowering the cabin aesthetic. And practically speaking - those steps are a lot safer to navigate, especially when you're coming in from the dock with wet feet or carrying gear. Safety and style don't have to be a trade-off.
