Steep lakefront stairs without a solid railing aren't just inconvenient - they're a liability. This property had a long concrete staircase running from the house all the way down to the water's edge, and it needed real structural support. Not a temporary fix. Something built to handle the grade, the elements, and years of regular use.
Everything was fabricated in-shop before hitting the site. That's how we keep the install clean and efficient - the metalwork is measured, cut, welded, and finished ahead of time so what shows up on-site is ready to go. No guesswork, no gaps, no sloppy field welds.
The railing follows the full run of the staircase - from the lower lakeside landing all the way up to the top near the house. There's a landing section mid-run with a framed guardrail panel that gives extra security right where the slope is steepest. The handrail has a subtle curve at the top that keeps it from feeling rigid or industrial. It's structural work, but it doesn't look harsh against the property.
The dark finish holds up well outdoors and sits naturally against the concrete steps and the wooded lakefront setting. As we head into the colder months, we're shifting more of our focus to interior fabrication work - so if you've got something on your list that needs planning, now is a good time to get it moving.
Projects like this are a solid example of what in-shop fabrication paired with structural expertise can deliver. Custom fit, built right, and ready for whatever the season throws at it.
