Most railings are just there. They do the job, but they don't say anything. This client in Blackduck wanted something different - something that felt like it actually belonged in their home. So we got to work.
We fabricated a full set of laser-cut steel railing panels featuring a detailed wildlife and northwoods scene. Pine trees, a bear, a moose, cattails, fish - the kind of imagery that fits naturally in a Minnesota home near the lake country. Every cut was done in-shop, which means we controlled every detail from start to finish.
What makes laser cutting the right tool for this kind of work is precision. The designs are intricate - overlapping tree lines, animal silhouettes, water plants - and each element has to connect and hold structural integrity while still looking like art. That's not something you can pull off with a generic off-the-shelf panel.
The panels fit flush into the existing white wood post system, and the dark matte finish ties the whole staircase area together without fighting the rest of the room. It looks intentional. Because it is.
This is what in-shop fabrication is built for. When you need something custom - something that fits your space and actually means something to you - that's where we do our best work. No two homes are the same, and your metalwork shouldn't be either.
